Profile

Who I Am

Inquisitive Educator, Ardent Geek

Eric laughing over his shoulder in a grey plaid jacket
Usually the one asking "but how does it work?"

My name is Eric. I'm an educator. A watchman. A geek. I don't like meatloaf or rap music. I love LEGO and martial arts. I'm a bass player. I'm always asking questions. I don't like repetitive tasks.

I'm stubborn. I'm easy-going. I'm a published author who doesn't like getting stuck in the details. I'm a boat-rocking disruptor who questions the status-quo. I'm an Apostolic. I like to juggle. I don't like unnecessary tasks or steps and I'm a huge fan of Don't Make Me Think. I like video games. I don't like being bored. I can read or study for hours yet I get bored after minutes with the mundane. I teach high schoolers how computers work. I spent nearly twenty years writing code in C#, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and most of it went into making someone's process faster or simpler. I still love improving processes. I'm a Krav Maga black belt, a BJJ blue belt and a USCCA Certified Instructor.

I like change. If you've "always done it that way", go tell someone else. I want to change "that way". I like to ramble. I love my church. I like to tinker with things. I'm willing to learn anything. I'm a procrastinator. I like systems. I'm optimistic. I like to think things will always work out for the best. I believe everything is possible. I've learned that not everything is feasible. You always have choices, you just have to pay the consequences.

Do more.Be the impossible.Do what you can't.Be more.Dream big.
